Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are reliable way to replace your missing teeth while also enhancing the appearance of your smile. As part of our cosmetic dental treatments, Dream Dentist offers porcelain bridges that are extremely durable and withstand the normal daily wear of biting and chewing.

A bridge is anchored onto teeth that are adjacent to the missing tooth. It is similar to two crowns on each tooth, with a false crown suspended between them. Using careful artistic methods, Dr. Thompson can create realistic textures and coloration that makes the bridge resemble a natural tooth. Your final treatment looks as if the tooth wasn’t missing at all!

Cosmetic Dental Bridges

Porcelain dental bridges are both restorative as well as cosmetic in nature. They allow us to accomplish a number of goals, including:

  • Preventing tooth shifting
  • Providing a permanent tooth replacement
  • Improved aesthetics
  • Replacement of up to two teeth at one time
  • Fast tooth replacement

Who is a candidate for dental bridges? Anyone who is missing a tooth but still has a healthy tooth on either side of the open space can consider bridge treatments at Dream Dentist. The reason these teeth must be healthy is because they are responsible for supporting the bridge for several years. We must ensure that they are free of gum disease, have adequate bone support, and are structurally capable of withstanding the weight of the forces that will be exerted onto the bridge.

Bridges can also be placed onto dental implants, allowing you to replace more teeth at one time. Dr. Thompson works alongside of dental implant specialists to provide our patients with permanent, aesthetic restorations such as dental bridges.

Most of our cosmetic bridge treatments take only two visits to complete. During your first appointment we will prepare the teeth and take an impression, which is used to design your custom prosthesis. In about two weeks, the permanent bridge will be ready for us to bond into place.
